Lean Back

Inform participants they will be working on building trust. Give all safety instructions prior to starting the activity. Have partners stand facing each other about 2 feet apart. Give each pair a rope (or belt) and ask participants to take one end of the rope in each hand. While facing each other, partners take small steps backwards until the rope is taut. They then begin to lean back until their bodies are at a 45-degree angle to the ground. They must work together to maintain balance. Instruct them to take turns being the leader in this activity. The follower should let the leader know when he/she is uncomfortable with the leaning.
